Slow but Steady Nature

Vanessa Chambers, E-CYT 500, has been a student of yoga for over 20 years. She began teaching the same way so many do: by having a driving desire to share what was so powerfully transformative in her own life with as many people as possible.

Vanessa began teaching in 2008, receiving her 200 hour certification. She then went on to complete 300 hours of advanced yoga teacher training, as well receiving certificates in kid’s yoga (Yoga for Young Ones), Yoga for Seniors, and Thai Yoga. She holds a B.A. in Holistic Health.

Vanessa owns and operates Virtual Management Central, a business and marketing management firm for wellness professionals. She is a business and mindset mentor for yoga teachers in collaboration with Meghan Hogan’s mentorship program Move with Maitri.

Presentation

I usually call the (Self) Forgiveness Project mindset program. I think it is more accurately called an emotional awareness program.

You will utilize restorative yoga, self-study, contemplation, and journaling to create an internal environment wherein you can begin to release the little conflicts that are built up within you around being a teacher, being someone who gets themselves out into the world, being someone who unabashedly promotes what they do and requires compensation for their services.

The ability to feel safe enough to do that starts from within you. You can push yourself to do things that are beyond your current comfort level but if you do so in a way that feels like you’re fighting yourself, it is not sustainable.  You’re going to get exhausted, You’re going to get sick, You’re going to be resentful. All of that within your own mind. There’s enough conflict in the world. There’s enough struggle and strife, you do not need to have a battle happening with yourself.
